Why do we sing in Church?

Music helps us respond emotionally to God and his people. The outworking of Christ's word in our lives is to be filled with thanks and praise for all God has done for us in Christ, and to encourage one another to give our lives to him as Lord. Colossians 3:16-17.

Our Vision in music ministry is to lead our congregation in expressing and celebrating the love, grace and salvation we have freely received; and our hope for the future through uplifting and inspiring music.

To do this, we humbly offer our musical gifts in a team setting to lead and inspire the congregation to heartfelt praise to God, to respond to his Word, and to serve each other.

We encourage everyone, young and old, to participate by selecting the best of both contemporary and traditional Christian music. This helps give everyone the opportunity to fully and enthusiastically give thanks and praise to God (Eph. 5:19-20).

Worship leaders select the songs for the service, and share them with all musicians. Those able to participate practice on their own during the week, and then gather at church with the worship leader to rehearse 1 hour prior to the service.

If you would like more information, or would like to get involved in music ministry please contact Debbie Minke, Music Coordinator.
