Our life of Faith

Our Life of Faith

The Christian life is a response of gratitude and worship to God’s grace through Jesus Christ. Our faith is lived out in daily actions that reflect Christ’s love, character, and sacrifice.

  1. Faith Influences Others:
  • The gospel is often received through faithful people who reflect Christ. Our lives can influence those around us more than we realize.

2. Jesus Is Central and Unchanging:
  • Christ, the unchanging high priest and mediator, empowers our daily lives. Our life of faith is grounded in who Jesus is, not what we do.

3. Our Life Reflects Christ When We:
  • Love one another as brothers and sisters in Christ (v.1).
  • Show hospitality to strangers, recognizing Christ in them (v.2).
  • Remember the imprisoned and mistreated, sharing in their suffering (v.3).
  • Honor marriage and uphold sexual purity as a covenantal reflection of God's faithfulness (v.4).
  • Reject greed, living in contentment and trust in God's provision (vv.5–6).
  • Remember and imitate godly leaders who have shaped our faith (v.7).
  • Acknowledge Jesus’ eternal consistency (v.8).

4. Faith Expresses Itself Through Sacrificial Living:
  • Praise and worship are our spiritual sacrifices (v.15).
  • Doing good and sharing with others are tangible acts of faith that please God (v.16).

Rather than seeing these commands as checklists, view them as the natural fruit of a life transformed by Christ’s Spirit. Where does the Spirit want to bring growth, healing, or change in your life?

Trust that Christ’s Spirit gives both the desire and the power to live this life of love, generosity, and faithfulness.
